Z kraju Politechnika Poznańska uruchomiła Akademię Huawei - HAINA
W Katedrze Sieci Telekomunikacyjnych Wydziału Elektroniki i Telekomunikacji Politechniki Poznańskiej zainaugurowano Akademię Huawei - Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academy.
Jednym z elementów Akademii Huawei będzie realizacja certyfikowanych kursów w zakresie rozwiązań chmurowych, bezpieczeństwa sieci komputerowych oraz zarządzania i administrowania sieciami.
Politechnika Poznańska rozpoczęła współpracę z firmą Huawei w ubiegłym roku, dołączając do partnerów konkursu Huawei "Seeds for the Future", w ramach którego studenci mieli okazję odbycia szkoleń w siedzibie głównej firmy w Shenzhen.

In a major step toward making a quantum computer using everyday materials, a team led by researchers at Princeton University has constructed a key piece of silicon hardware capable of controlling quantum behavior between two electrons with extremely high precision. The team constructed a gate that controls interactions between the electrons in a way that allows them to act as the quantum bits of information, or qubits, necessary for quantum computing. The demonstration of this nearly error-free, two-qubit gate is an important early step in building a more complex quantum computing device from silicon, the same material used in conventional computers and smartphones. więcej na: www.princeton.edu

SEMI projects that worldwide sales of new semiconductor manufacturing equipment will increase 35.6 percent to US$55.9 billion in 2017, marking the first time that the semiconductor equipment market has exceeded the previous market high of US$47.7 billion set in 2000. In 2018, 7.5 percent growth is expected to result in sales of US$60.1 billion for the global semiconductor equipment market - another record-breaking year. The SEMI Year-end Forecast predicts a 37.5 percent increase in 2017, to $45.0 billion, for wafer processing equipment. The other front-end segment, which consists of fab facilities equipment, wafer manufacturing, and mask/reticle equipment, is expected to increase 45.8 percent to $2.6 billion. więcej na: www.semi.org

The upcoming handset had been expected to make its first official appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next month, but that has now been thrown into doubt. Instead, it appears that we’ll have to wait until March to get our first glimpse of the S9. A spokesperson for the South Korean firm has said it is “unlikely” that the S9 will be shown off at CES, the Korea Herald reports. That suggests Samsung is yet to make up its mind, which is somewhat bizarre considering CES is just weeks away. The rumoured Las Vegas appearance had been expected to be little more than a sneak preview, but it’s still slightly disappointing to hear that it might not happen. The S9 is likely to look very similar to the S8, but with one potentially very important design change. więcej na: www.independent.co.uk

NAND flash is used in everything from our smartphones to our tablets to our notebook computers to numerous IoT devices that float in and out of our everyday lives. For the past year, demand has outstripped supply with regards to NAND flash, which has resulted in higher prices. However, DRAMeXchange is forecasting that that trajectory is set to change during the first quarter of 2018. The fourth quarter is traditionally the hottest selling period in tech, while the first quarter is traditionally one of the slowest periods. Thanks to increased production and the seasonal downturn, DRAMeXchange estimates that overall demand will fall by 15 percent in Q1 2018 compared to Q4 2017. The one caveat is that demand in the server market is expected to remain relatively flat. więcej na: hothardware.com

Pegatron Corp reported a nearly 27 percent monthly fall in revenue to NT$121.83 billion last month from the previous month’s NT$166.47 billion, as the peak season waned and smartphone shipments declined. On an annual basis, the NT$121.83 billion represented a 3.19 percent contraction from last year’s NT$125.84 billion, a company filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange showed. “The monthly decline was due to the seasonal effect, which is in line with Pegatron’s estimate and matches the company’s historic pattern,” a Pegatron investor relations official said by telephone. The official said Pegatron remained optimistic that overall performance this quarter would outpace last quarter’s results on rising demand for communications products and notebook computers. więcej na: www.taipeitimes.com
