Ze świata  Wymogi prawne napędzają rynek detektorów gazów

Według Transparency Market Research wartość światowego rynku detektorów gazów zwiększy się z 3 mld dolarów w 2015 roku do prawie 6 mld dolarów w roku 2024.

Oznaczać to będzie średni roczny wzrost o prawie 6%.

Najszybciej zapotrzebowanie wzrastać będzie w regionie Azji i Pacyfiku. Napędzać go będą głównie przepisy, które wymuszają korzystanie z detektorów gazów dla ochrony zdrowia pracowników. Rozwój rynku hamować będzie przede wszystkim niska marża spowodowana dużą konkurencją.

Samsung posts record Q1 profit helped by memory chips

Samsung Electronics has posted 9.9 trillion won in operating profits for the first quarter of 2017 - a rise of 48.3 percent from last year, the company said. It is the firm's second-highest profit ever on record, and was largely achieved by its chip business, which contributed nearly two-thirds, or 6.32 trillion won. Samsung's high-density chips allowed for higher average sale prices, despite a slower demand due to seasonality. The South Korean tech giant is a leader in DRAM and NAND, both in market share and commercial technology levels, and soaked up a demand for datacenters, enterprise SSDs, and flagship smartphones. więcej na: www.zdnet.com

Nokia reports slowing sales decline as network market recovers

Finnish network equipment maker Nokia reported a slowing rate of sales decline, saying the global networks market was showing signs of recovery. Nokia and its rivals, Sweden's Ericsson and China's Huawei Technologies, have struggled in recent years as telecom operators' demand for faster 4G mobile broadband equipment has peaked, and upgrades to next-generation 5G equipment are still years away. Nokia said the business momentum was now improving: first-quarter network sales fell 6 percent from a year earlier to 4.9 billion euros ($5.3 billion), compared with a decline of 14 percent in the previous quarter. więcej na: www.reuters.com

GlobalWafers seeing robust semiconductor wafer demand

Demand for semiconductor-grade silicon wafers has been robust, which expects the market to see tight supply through the end of 2018. The market shortage will continue to drive up wafer prices, said GlobalWafers. Prices for mainstream 12-inch wafers, for example, will continue to rise 5-10% quarterly. GlobalWafers also anticipated that wafer prices will see larger growth in the second half of 2017 than in the first half, as the ongoing shortage will become more acute in the second half of the year. więcej na: www.digitimes.com
